Look out GoPro, because Ricoh is getting ready to jump into action camera market with both feet. The Ricoh WG-M1 Action Camera ($299) is available for preorder now and will ship some time next month. Standard specs include a 14MP CMOS sensor, a super-wide lens with an 160-degree field of view, 1080/30p video, Wi-Fi, and a 1.5″ LCD screen. The really cool thing that sets this camera apart is its water-resistance without any additional housing. The WG-M1 is waterproof to 32 feet on its own. That means unless you’re doing some deep water diving you should be good to go. Additional features include shock-resistance up to six feet, high-speed continuous shooting of still images up to 10 images per second, and a strap with an included carabiner. Multiple mounts will be available at release for shooting in any situation.
