The original Robocop took place in a crime-ridden Detroit and a Peter Weller (RoboCop) is killed when he takes what seems like a hundred bullets plus a final one to the dome. He is then turned into the RoboCop to fight crime. In the new RoboCop Movie Trailer ($TBA) it looks like he gets blown up and doesn’t die, just gets really messed up which is a little disappointing. The brutality of the origInal kill scene really sets the stage in the first movie about the morality of using extreme violence to fight violence.
