Move over Apple, because consumer reports just named the Samsung Galaxy S7 ($99+) it’s top smartphone. With the Samsung S7 Edge coming in second.
When taking a look at the phones, Consumer Reports say the main features that put the Galaxy S7 over the top were its water-resistance, expandable memory, camera performance and its battery life.
Consumer Reports says their test show the battery life of the S7 lasts more than 24 hours of simulated talk time. This is more that twice the results from the iPhone 6S.
When testing water-resistance the Galaxy S7 and the edge did extremely well. Both phones can handle immersion for up to 30 minutes in 5 feet of water. So all of us who have inadvertently dropped our phones in the toilet or took a dive with a phone in your trunks, have options.
The Samsung camera features a dual-pixel technology, combined with a fast autofocus to help eliminate blurry pictures. They’ve also added a new advanced sensor that lets you capture amazing images in low light conditions. Additional features include the ability to shoot Ultra HD (4K) video and a microSD slot so you can add 200GB of storage.
I never thought I would ever consider moving away from the Apple ecosystem, but after looking at these specs, I’ll be taking a closer look at the Samsung S7.
