Do not be confused by the title, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope ($30) is the original Star Wars movie renamed after the three prequels were made. Nobody had ever seen anything quite like this movie when it was released a staggering 37 years ago and even with all the technology available today, there hasn’t been a movie since that captured the imagination of the world in quite the same way. Luke Skywalker is a young would be Jedi Knight who teams up with a cocky pilot, a wookie and a couple of droids to save the empire from the evil clutches of Darth Vadar. There is also a damsel in distress, Princess Leia, to save along the way. Written and directed by the genius that is George Lucas, starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher and with a stellar line up of supporting actors, if ever a movie deserved to be called a classic it’s this one.
