The Coast by Oru Kayak ($1775) is the latest release from the company that produces origami-inspired kayaks which redefine access to the great outdoors. The original Bay Kayak was 12 feet long, and 25 inches wide. But the new Coast is longer and is able to handle rough waters wherever you may find them.
The new Coast was inspired by Arctic kayaks and was made for serious expeditions and pro-level performance, capable of handling long days on the water and choppy seas. So whether you’re dealing with rough coastlines or big lakes, the Coast can handle it.
The Coast measures 16 feet long but weighs just 31 pounds, so it’s easily thrown in a truck, checked on a plane, or carried on your back or motorcycle. Its size and form give it excellent speed and handling, which is perfect for novice paddlers all the way to the seasoned explorer. And once you get to your location it only takes about 10 minutes to assemble.
The Coast is currently being sold via a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. So if you want to save hundreds off of the retail price, act soon, because you only have a limited amount of time.
