Using just an iPad and The Procreate Drawing App ($6) digital artist Kyle Lambert created a 4K resolution portrait of Morgan Freeman that blew us away. The idea the above image is not a photograph is mind blowing. The drawing took approximately 200 hours and over 285,000 brush strokes to complete.
Lambert siad, “I recently discovered that it was possible to create incredibly high-resolution paintings using only my iPad, and I wanted to see just how far I could push the digital artwork and paint a true photorealistic portrait. I started with a blank white screen and began capturing Morgan Freeman’s likeness, quickly painting the broad strokes with my finger. I then reduced the brush size to a few pixels, pinched to zoom and carefully painted in the fine detail.”
Lambert shot a time-lapse three minute video that shows the entire process, stroke by stroke from the beginning to the final image. Check out the video and see Morgan’s image come to life.
